I have been shooting Olympic Recurve since 2014 and Compound since 2024
My favorite thing about archery is, it’s a time in the day/week/month that I can focus only on the present, what is happening at that one moment. It also pushes me to learn more about something else besides my day to day and an opportunity to push myself both physically and mentally.
Archery has taught me to be patient with the process and with myself and with learning and growth progress.
Coaching has taught me that everyone can learn something new at any time. That there’s something amazing in seeing someone hit their goal, learn a new skill/have an “aha” moment, or hit a personal best.
My Coaching Philosophy is Mental and Physical/ability growth and strength are tied to one another and we must work on both to create progress towards our goals.
I also enjoy doing a lot of photography for the club.

I have been a USA Archery Level 2 Instructor since 2/2023
I have been shooting Barebow receive since late 2022.
Archery allows me to focus on being completely present in the moment, concentrating only on myself and the target. As an adult with ADHD, I have found that having an activity that helps me “tune out” distractions, and “Tune in” to my body is essential in allowing me to process and engage in my day-to-day life. Archery is both my meditation and my therapy.
Archery has taught me to be aware of things that are easy to overlook. It encourages me to slow down and be intentional. Paradoxically, it encourages me to trust myself and “let go” without over thinking or over analyzing.
I have been a USA Archery Level 2 Instructor since 2019
I have been shooting Olympic Recurve since 1989
Olympic recurve archery captures the synergy of the bow and the archer. It requires the balance of mind and body. Done well, it is seemingly effortless and smooth, a beautiful demonstration of archery
Archery is not dependent on anyone else except you in the moment of your shot. Archery is a practice of self discipline and preparation. Whatever action you put into the bow will show in the results of your shot. It is honest. It is pure
In coaching, I aim to be calm and collected. I strive to listen and hear students and athletes in an effort of collaborative improvement. I think it is important to identify how a person learns and understand their perspective. I appreciate seeing an archer develop resilience and establish calm confidence. It is very fulfilling to me to help youth in archery
I want people to feel good about themselves and encouraged by their efforts. I want to maintain the highest integrity. I always want to deliver a great experience
Archery is fun! Let’s shoot!
I have been shooting Barebow since 2023
My favorite thing about archery is that not only is it physically challenging, but also mentally challenging and yet fun at the same time. I enjoy the sense of accomplishment when I shoot. I also really love our archery family!
Archery has taught me more patience and focus. Archery has also taught me that small changes make bug differences.
I have been a USA Archery Level 2 Coach since 2024. Coaching others really forces you to take a look at your own shooting process and gives you a new perspective on shooting. I enjoy coaching students and seeing their archery skills grow!
My Coaching Philosophy is that archery is very much a sport that your shooting is the result of the effort you put in. Taking the time to shoot and practice often will payoff down the road, regardless of what kind of equipment/bow you shoot. Also, don’t forget to have fun! Everyone wants to shoot and score well, but don’t put yourself under so much pressure that you lose the fun.
