Money Shoot and Angel Tree Fundraiser

The Corner Cup has traditionally been held at the Ben Avery Indoor Shooting Facility, and we are incredibly grateful for the memories and support we have experienced there over the years.

However, with the increasing costs associated with hosting the tournament, we have made the decision to start a new tradition and move the Corner Cup to our own range.

While our venue is smaller, we can still accommodate 20 shooters per shooting time and, most importantly, significantly reduce the cost of hosting the event. Those savings will allow us to support at least five additional families during the holidays rather than using those funds to cover event expenses. The Corner Cup has never been about making a profit—it has always been about bringing our archery community together to give back to families in need. Ultimately, we could not justify paying increased costs to host the tournament elsewhere when those same dollars could make a meaningful difference for families during the holiday season. We hope everyone will understand that this decision was made with the heart and purpose of the Corner Cup at the forefront.

The LEGAL Stuff -Don't do anything stupid and YES, you can wear jeans, or camo, or whatever. Just make it appropriate.

VERY IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER (AGAIN... VERY IMPORTANT) - Youth archers competing for prize money may affect their amateur status as a student athlete. It is important to understand the rules associated with prize money and information can be found at NCAA.org.

Divisions - There are five designated divisions for this event. All divisions are separated by male and female. In the event that there is under three (3) male or three (3) female in a given division that division will be combined and there will be no gender separation.

  • Compound Open Male & Female

  • Compound Modern Bowhunter Male & Female

  • Recurve Open Male & Female

  • Recurve Traditional/Barebow Male & Female

Division Shoot Time

  • All participants will choose one shooting time per Session.

  • Archers competing in the event must be available on Sunday at conclusion of the Afternoon Session in the event of a tie to compete in a shoot-off to determine the winner. In the event of a tie and one of the participants does not shoot in the shoot-off they forfeit their position and end with the next lowest place.

    • Example - Tie for 1st place and one shooter does not show up for the shoot-off. The archer who is present defaults to 1st place and the no-show defaults to 2nd place.

Format - The shoot has two (2) sessions consisting of two (2) different target scoring types at the same distance of 18m each day.

Scores from both days will be combined. Total for both days is 1320.

Payouts will be determined after total scores are combined and field is flighted.

How the Payout works – EXAMPLE ONLY – WILL CHANGE DEPENDING ON HOW MANY ARCHERS REGISTER…. AGAIN.. EXAMPLE ONLY. Payouts will be in $CASH$ and paid during awards approximately 45 minutes to 1 hour after the final round on Sunday.

Flights are what we call a “BLIND FLIGHT”. This means we take the total number of archers and divide them into groups of 10. Each group of 10 is considered a Flight. The flights then pay according to how many archers registered for that division.

Doing the “Blind Flight” system we try to avoid the common “Vegas Sandbag” scenario. In the spirit of competition we hope that everyone would shoot to their ability and not try to beat the system.

Flights Payout Example -

  • 35 Compound Open archers

  • 1 Place paid for every 3 archers registered.

  • 35/3 = 11 paid places.

  • There were 4 Flights consisting of archers 1-10/11-20/21-30/31-35.

  • Places 1/2/3, 1/2/3, 1/2/3, & 1/2 were paid as a result.

Flights - 50% Payback

  • Flights will be divided into groups of 10 archers. Payouts are to be determined by how many people register for each division. Total payout and payout scale will be posted prior to the shoot. Payouts are one place per 3 archers in a flight.

  • Example #1 with 20 registered archers:

    • Flight #1

      • 1 - 10 Archers

    • Flight #2

      • 11 - 20 Archers
